WeWork
– Co-working Environment
In response to the increased unemployment rate of 10.2%
near the tail end of 2010, many people have put matters
into their own hands as small business owners and entrepreneurs.
This economic downturn gave way for a new way of productivity
for those in a jobless situation. Whether people took this opportunity
to transition between careers or launch a start-up business,
people needed people to be progressive in a productive environment,
especially during this discouraging period of increased unemployment.
WeWork is a company that took this observation seriously,
where an open and shared office space was created to inspire creativity
and productivity among members who are interested in reaping the benefits
of a creative and collaborative ‘co-working’ environment.
Similar to that of a gym, WeWork provides membership
and all things needed for members to be productive
and get their jobs done (i.e. desk, copiers, wifi, conference rooms, etc).
The various groups of people from different industry backgrounds
become part of a progressive community through WeWork,
where members experience creative collaborations among each other
as well as open networking opportunities just by simply working
in an open environment knowing that everyone is
there to be productive and collaborative.
The focus on the collaborative community environment at WeWork
is what distinguishes itself from other ‘Third Place’ venues,
such as Starbucks and the like.
This is more than just a working environment or an open office space
- it’s the hub of talent exchange and business connections,
where people share their ideas and empower each other to grow and thrive.
